Plot
Gundello Godari is based on the book Godavari Kathalu, a story that unfolds in the backdrop of the devastating flash floods of 1986. Malli (Aadhi) and Chitra (Lakshmi Manchu) are getting married. They are just about to settle in the occasion and are suddenly warned by the authorities about the flash floods heading towards their village. The couple is still shaken up and suspect each other because of the expensive individual gifts they received during the wedding. Everyone, except the couple, runs for safety at the first sign of water. Thrown together by fate and bound by destiny, they stick to each other and make their way to the top of a floating house. To calm down their fears and remove their suspicions they narrate their stories to each other.
