Under Shah Pahlavi's pro-Western police state thousands of Israelis lived in Iran. Protected by arms deals and complex financial ties, they enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle, willfully blind to the corruption and authoritarian cruelty around them. But in 1979 the Israeli's "Persian paradise", was shattered by the Islamist revolution.
