Plot
The film is a book adaptation of 'Uravidangal' by veteran bilingual writer Jeyamohan, portraying the matrilineal system where Nair women owned properties and were the powerful matriarchs in the society. The story revolves around three main characters, Thaanu Pillai (Lal), Meenakshi (Mallika) and Sharath (Aasif Ali). A document of separation is filed by Meenakshi against her husband, nearly after many years of married life. Her father in law, Thaanu Pillai (Lal) sends his advocate, for an out of the court settlement. During the course of things, the advocate even gathers the information about his client and his reality. The story lays open the ego clashes and complexities, trying to justify every person for their actions.
